Role Overview:

As a Systems Administrator, you will play a pivotal role in the administration and troubleshooting of Linux environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Proactively manage and maintain Linux environments, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to system configuration, software, and hardware in Linux environments.

Implement and maintain security measures to protect systems and data integrity.

Monitor system performance and capacity, making recommendations for improvements as necessary.

Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate and optimize systems within the organization.

Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.

What you'll need to succeed:

A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Systems Administrator, with a strong background in data centre operations within medium to large organizations.

Demonstrated expertise in managing Linux environments with solid, verifiable knowledge.

Flexibility to work outside regular hours for scheduled maintenance and weekly preventive measures.

Proficiency in the following areas:

  • Linux Clusters
  • Networks
  • Shell Scripting
  • Foreman

Valued Skills:

Technical certifications in relevant technologies.

Additional knowledge supporting the mentioned systems, including:

  • Avamar
  • Dell Compellent and 3PAR Storage
  • VMWare
  • OracleVM
  • Integration with authentication platforms such as LDAP, Kerberos, MS AD, etc.
  • Automation tools like Puppet, Chef, and Ansible
  • SAN and LAN switches
  • Networking fundamentals such as addressing, routing, etc.
